Barry uses his experience in estate planning and administration, along with business and property transactions, to provide comprehensive service to his clients. He is passionate about helping clients create effective plans to achieve their personal and business objectives and supporting them through the successful implementation of those plans.
Barry works with his clients to find estate and succession planning solutions that fit their circumstances. For many clients, estate planning involves preparing wills, enduring powers of attorney, representation agreements, or advance directives, for individuals and couples. Planning may include more straight-forward, or in some cases more sophisticated, planning tools. Barry listens to his clients, asking questions to get to the core of their concerns, and providing advice to ensure that the appropriate planning tools are identified and applied.
In addition to planning, Barry also advises executors, corporate trustees, estate administrators, and beneficiaries of estates on their obligations and rights. He and his team work with their clients to simplify what may be, for many, a difficult and emotional experience.
Barry works with his business clients and their professional advisers, during both times of stability and of change. He advises business owners throughout the Lower Mainland on appropriate business structures and guides them through a variety of transactions involving their business (e.g. buying or selling of businesses, negotiating commercial leases, drafting operational agreements).
Barry strives to be a trusted and competent adviser to his business clients. His demeanour puts clients at ease and has resulted in many loyal and long term clients; some of whom are inter-generational business owners dealing with succession planning and business ownership transitions.
